Listen & Compare
This part of the Lab focuses on guided listening across nine professional mixes of the same song. You can:
- compare full mixes in real time while switching producers,
- zoom into specific song sections,
- focus on stems for drums, bass, guitars, and vocals,
- and contrast equivalent stems across producers.
The goal is not to decide which mix is 'best', but to hear how different production aesthetics redistribute hardness, punch, and density, and how these decisions affect heaviness, clarity, and musical feel.
Compare Mixes
One song, nine professional mixes. Switch producers while the track plays.
Use the mix comparison player to switch between complete mixes created by nine internationally recognised metal producers. The musical material is identical; only the production and mixing differ.
Open Mix Comparison →Explore Sections

Rebalance core stems to hear hardness–punch trade-offs.
Solo and rebalance drums, bass, guitars, and vocals in selected sections for each producer. Experiment with how different choices affect hardness, punch, and perceived heaviness.
